Septia Ryanthie, Jakarta – Vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka commented on a widespread issue about the purported list of names that are expected to fill ministerial posts in the upcoming government's cabinet for the period of 2024-2029. He firmly stated that it was false information.

"I don't think it's true," Gibran said at Solo City Hall on Tuesday, February 20.

He also denied the rumor that the Prabowo-Gibran government will have young ministers in the future and has asked all parties to be patient and wait for further updates. "Let's just wait," he briefly said.

Recently, a poster displaying a new cabinet under the leadership of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka went viral on social media. An X (formerly Twitter) account @PolJokesID also posted a poster of the new possible cabinet on February 19, 2024.

The poster noted that Prabowo-Gibran would adopt Ir Soekarno's cabinet structure which includes young figures as ministers in a bid to ensure substantive youth representation in the government.

Some of the names include Nusron Wahid as Chief of Presidential Staff, Helmi Yahya as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Grace Natalie as Junior Minister of Social Affairs and Women's and Children's Welfare, and Ridwan Kamil as Minister of Public Works and Housing Agency (PUPR).

Numerous quick count results from independent pollsters showed that Prabowo-Gibran outperformed the other two candidates, namely Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud, with approximately 58 percent of the national vote in the Feb. 14 election. Meanwhile, Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud received 25 percent and 17 percent of the votes, respectively.
