Fito Akhmad Erlangga, Magelang – President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo shared a meal with his potential successor, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, at a restaurant in Magelang on Monday.

This marks the second time this month that the two prominent figures were photographed dining together, reinforcing Jokowi's apparent endorsement of the presidential candidate. Prabowo has chosen the president's son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as his running mate.

Despite the speculation surrounding their meetings, Jokowi refrained from discussing the upcoming elections during an encounter with journalists after lunch.

When asked about his discussion with Prabowo, Jokowi replied, "We just inaugurated the Grand Hall at the Military Academy in Magelang and came here to enjoy meatball soup. We shared the same menu: meatball soup, coconut water, and fried tofu."

Prabowo also kept his response focused on the lunch, saying, "Mr. Jokowi always knows where to have good meals."

The duo recently shared a moment when the Defense Ministry officially handed new aircraft to the Air Force in Jakarta.

Earlier this month, they were spotted dining together at a public restaurant in Jakarta in a more private setting. A photo of the encounter was released to the media, portraying Jokowi in his characteristic white shirt and dark trousers, engaged in earnest conversation with Prabowo.

While maintaining a publicly neutral stance for the February 14 presidential election, Jokowi's support for Prabowo becomes apparent through the inclusion of his eldest son as the running mate. Additionally, Jokowi's youngest son, Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Chairman Kaesang Pangarep, formally endorsed Prabowo's candidacy.
