Ikhsan Reliubun, Jakarta – Presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto will be reported to the General Elections Supervisory Agency or Bawaslu today. Coalition for Clean General Elections will report Prabowo on grounds of election violations today at around 02:00 p.m. local time.
"Ahead of the vote, state neutrality in the general elections has become increasingly questionable," said advocate from Themis Indonesia Ibnu Syamsu Hidayat in a written statement.
The allegation of election violation occurred after the Defense Ministry's X account @Kemhan_RI posted on Monday at 10:25 a.m. local time photos of houses for the Indonesian Military soldiers with hashtags including #PrabowoGibran2024.
According to Ibnu, the post has been confirmed by the head of Defense Ministry public relations Brigadier General Edwin Adrian. "The post that has been removed was a form of negligence from the Defense Ministry's social media admin," he said.
Ibnu believed the promotion of Prabowo-Gibran on the ministry's social media account was a violation of Article 280 of the General Elections Law. "It must be handled soon by Bawaslu," he added.
