Jakarta – Vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka urged his supporters and volunteers in Bali to work hard to win the election in one round.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Bali needs special attention. [We] need to work extra hard to win in one round," Gibran said while campaigning in Denpasar, Bali, on Tuesday, as quoted by Kompas.

Gibran told his supporters not to be easily swayed by the results of weekly opinion polls, which have shown that he and presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto were leading the race. He said it was more important to consolidate supporters at the lowest level.

Furthermore, Gibran also requested that his supporters in Bali avoid responding to slander or negative comments about the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran pair.

"If there are insinuations, slander or negative stories, don't worry about it. If there is slander, there is no need to reply with more slander, if there are insinuations, there is no need to respond. We should just focus on winning, there is no need to vilify other candidates' programs. Our concern is for the Prabowo-Gibran pair to win," he said.

Gibran said he wanted to create equitable development in Bali, which would be done by creating new economic growth centers, especially in North Bali.

Gibran said he would accommodate the aspirations of community leaders, as they were related to network and access development so that logistics and basic needs would be more affordable.
