Mita Amalia Hapsari, Jakarta – Stringent security preparations have been implemented at the Istora Sports Stadium in Jakarta, ahead of the anticipated return of all three presidential candidates to the debate stage on Sunday evening.
Anies Baswedan, Prabowo Subianto, and Ganjar Prabowo are set to engage in discussions covering defense, geopolitics, and foreign policy issues.
"We have deployed 3,100 personnel from the Police Headquarters, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, the Central Jakarta District Police, and the Indonesian Military for the upcoming debate," stated Central Jakarta Police Chief Susatyo Purnomo Condro during a briefing with reporters at the debate venue.
Security measures will mirror those from the previous debate, which focused on maintaining separation among supporters of the respective candidates.
Access to the venue will be strictly regulated, allowing entry only to individuals holding special passes or invitations.
"Based on our assessment, candidates tend to have a significant number of supporters accompanying them, hence we will implement thorough visitor screening right from the main gate," highlighted Susatyo.
Approximately 150 officers will be stationed at the main gate to oversee security procedures.
A three-tiered security setup will be implemented, spanning from the outer perimeters to the debate hall, complemented by mobile patrols operating in the vicinity of Senayan.
