Jakarta – Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto has appointed his former wife Siti Hediati Hariyadi, daughter of former president Soeharto, as a party advisor amid his campaign for the presidency in 2024.

Siti, also known as Titiek Soeharto, and former Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI) chairman Mochammad Irawan were named deputy chairs of the party's advisory board at its national meeting on Friday.

"At this national coordination meeting, Pak Prabowo inaugurated them," said Gerindra deputy chairman Rahayu Sarawati, as quoted by news agency Antara.

Titiek is the second daughter of Soeharto and had a son with Prabowo, Ragowo Hediprasetyo, before their separation.

She was previously a member of the Golkar Party, which her father founded. In 2018, she left Golkar and joined the Berkarya Party, which belongs to her brother, Hutomo Mandala Putra, better known as Tommy Soeharto, before moving to Gerindra.

In the 2024 election, Titiek is running as a Gerindra candidate for the legislature. In 2014, she was elected to the House of Representatives for the 2014-2019 period.

Titiek has led several foundations, including the Indonesian Fine Arts Foundation from 2010 to 2015, the Gotong Royong Humanitarian Fund Foundation and the Purna Bhakti Pertiwi Foundation.

According to the State Assets Report (LHKPN), on March 9, 2018, Titiek had Rp 592.58 billion (US$38 million) in total assets. The figure included properties, including land and buildings in Indonesia, valued at a total of Rp 423.49 billion ($27 million).
