Antara, Jakarta – Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo promised to evaluate the Job Creation Law if elected as the next president of Indonesia in the upcoming general elections.

"We will evaluate [the law], we found that businesspeople, executors from the government, and workers are all uncomfortable [with the provisions]," he said during a consolidation event with workers and MSMEs actors in Bekasi on Thursday, Dec. 14.

Job Creation Law is one of the controversial laws that emerged during President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's administration. According to Ganjar, the discomfort felt by people from various elements proves that something was amiss.

Ganjar said that he would invite all stakeholders to reach a consensus before drafting the regulation. "We must read the sociological condition first so we can prepare the regulation," he mentioned.

He claimed that the Indonesian Employers' Association also has been invited to review the Job Creation Law. "I feel like we should sit together and review whether we will use the employers' regime, wages regime, or others," he said.

Ganjar Pranowo also vowed to fight for a better livelihood for workers, including by providing housing, education, and health insurance.
