President Jokowi appoints 12 new ambassadors

M Julnis Firmansyah, Jakarta – President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo appointed 12 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia at Central Jakarta's State Palace. The new ambassadors who took the oath will then be designated to various countries based on the President's Decree No. 51P and 55P/2023.

According to Tempo's observation, there were notable individuals among the names of people who were appointed such as Teuku Faizasyah, who once served as the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry's spokesman and former president of the state-news agency ANTARA, Meidyatama Suryodiningrat.

The following is the complete list of the newly-appointed ambassadors:

  • Teuku Faizasyah, as Indonesia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Norway and Iceland, is to be based in Oslo.
  • Michael Trias Kuncahyono, Indonesia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Holy See, stationed at the Vatican.
  • Achmad Rizal Purnama, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Turkiye, based in Ankara.
  • Arief, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Ukraine concurrently with the Republic of Armenia and Georgia, based in Kyiv.
  • Achmad Ubaedillah, as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, stationed in Bandar Seri Begawan.
  • Santo Darmosumarto, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Cambodia, stationed in Phnom Penh.
  • Grata Endah Werdaningtyas, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, stationed in Vientiane.
  • I Gede Ngurah Swajaya, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein, stationed in Bern.
  • Dupito Dorma Simamora, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Fiji and to the Republic of Kiribati, the Republic of Nauru, and Tuvalu, stationed in Suva.
  • Meidyatama Suryodiningrat, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Romania and to the Republic of Moldova, stationed in Bucharest.
  • Ricky Suhendar, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Peru and to the Plurinational State of Bolivia, stationed in Lima.
  • Saud Purwanto Krisnawan, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of South Africa accredited to the Republic of Botswana, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Kingdom of Eswatini, and the Southern African Development Community (SADC), stationed in Pretoria.
