Dicky Kurniawan, Imaji Lasahido (Intern), Jakarta – The National Police recorded about 5,989 vehicles have been fined through electronic traffic tickets until the third day of the 2022 Lilin Jaya Operation.
All the vehicles that were fined are caught by both the ETLE (Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement) static and mobile cameras.
According to a spokesperson for the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Chief Commissioner Saptono Erlangga Waskitoroso, the ETLE static camera has caught 4,867 vehicles, while the ETLE mobile camera caught 1,122 vehicles.
The 2022 Lilin Jaya Operation recorded 409 accidents last Monday, December 26, 2022. A total of 40 people died, 43 were seriously injured, and 320 were minor injuries.
Saptono implored the public to ensure the condition of their vehicles before making a holiday or homecoming trip. It is advised to rest every hour after driving to avoid getting tired on the road.
