Pancasila Day: Jokowi reminds Indonesians of radical transnational ideology

Egi Adyatama, Jakarta – President Joko Widodo or Jokowi attended the commemoration ceremony of state ideology Pancasila Day on June 1, that held virtually, from Bogor Palace, West Java. During his speech, Widodo reminded the existence of transnational ideology in Indonesia.

The President said the ideology spread fast among the people from any element, infiltrating everyone's life through various strategies. In addition, the high-development of technology also help the spread of this ideology.

"This access can be used by the radical transnational ideologists to reach all of Indonesian regions, until the remote ones, to all of element and ages, anywhere, anytime," he said.

According to Jokowi, through technology disruption, the expansion of this radical ideology can spread faster than expected. The 4.0 industry revolution has provided transnational accesses in interaction, communication, and involve in organization, in large scale.

"When 5G starts to connect the world, the global interaction is also getting easier and faster," he added.

This is one of the challenges faced by Pancasila today, said Joko Widodo. The globalization and world interaction would not necessarily improve common views and togetherness.

He, therefore, asked Indonesians to face the challenge trough the broadening and deepening of Pancasila values in extraordinary ways. "By utilizing the development of science and technology, especially in 4.0 industry revolution. The Pancasila must be the foundation in developing Indonesian science and technology," Jokowi remarked.
