Antara, Jakarta – Indonesia's biggest airline Lion Air has resumed flight between Jakarta and the Chinese city of Wuhan, the first known epicenter of coronavirus outbreak before it became a global pandemic.

According to Antara news agency on Wednesday, a Boeing 737-900 serves the route every Monday.

The JT-2619 flight departed from Jakarta at 6.20 a.m. Jakarta time and arrived in Wuhan at 12.25 p.m.

The plane changed flight number to JT-2618 as it took off from Wuhan at 3.10 p.m. local time and arrived in Jakarta after six hours and 10 minutes, the agency reported.

The same airline was involved in the evacuation of 238 Indonesian citizens from Wuhan in the wake of the outbreak on February 2, 2020.

At that time, Indonesian returnees were flown to Batam Island before being quarantined at a military base on nearby Natuna Island.
