Covid-19 vaccination enacted for Indonesian army personnel

Antara, Jakarta – The Indonesian Army (TNI AD) Chief of Staff Andika Perkasa on Tuesday, March 2, led the simultaneous Covid-19 vaccination of all army personnel at the Indonesian Army Headquarters (Mabesad).

The TNI AD spokesperson Brig. Gen. Nefra Firdaus confirmed on Wednesday that the vaccination is the second phase following up on the earlier vaccination that vaccinated the Army's 20,565 healthcare personnel.

"The vaccination is commenced to support the government's program in order to break the chain of Covid-19 and increase the immune levels of Army soldiers," said the spokesperson.

In total, he said that the vaccination will be given to 353,647 Army personnel that are spread across multiple main commands (Kotama) and Balakpus headquarters and will be separated into several sessions.

The second session for army personnel will start on March 15 with 80,000 personnel fromKostrad, Kopassus, and 15 Military Commands expected to receive vaccines across the country. There will be a fourth session on April 16 with Covid-19 vaccinations given to 92,028 personnel who were not subjected to the first and second session of vaccination.
