Egi Adyatama, Jakarta – The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) on Sunday reported that a major landslide had happened in an East Java village in the province's area of Nganjuk which caused 14 injuries and reportedly 20 people have gone missing.

"Injured residents have been treated at the local healthcare center. The landslide caused major damages for 8 houses," said the BNPB spokesperson Raditya Jati on Monday, February 15.

The local Nganjuk disaster mitigation or BPBD reported that evacuation efforts have been launched to look for the missing residents and had assisted others who were injured in the natural disaster.

Prior to this, the Pasuruan BPBD reported heavy floods submerging communities in three sub-districts in East Java which they believe is caused by high rain intensity falling over the sub districts of Bangli, Winongan, and Grati.

Raditya said 294 families were displaced from their homes due to the floods with a total of 357 people being evacuated to the local Al-Islah Mosque and a local kindergarten. The BNPB and East Java BPDB continue to provide assistance and evacuate those who are affected by the flood and landslide.
