M Julnis Firmansyah, Jakarta – Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus said the annual security operation during Eid holidays dubbed Operasi Ketupat (Ketupat Operation) that kicked off a week before the fasting month of Ramadan had ended on late Sunday, June 7.

However, Yusri ensured the monitoring posts established in the city's borders will remain operative to observe people leaving and entering the Jakarta Greater Area or Jabodetabek.

"The PSBB (social restriction on a large scale) and the checking of SIKM (exit and entry permit) are still valid although the Ketupat Operation completes," said Yusri at the Jakarta Police HQ in South Jakarta, Monday, June 8.

Yusri said anyone willing to enter the capital city would still be monitored through a total of 33 checkpoint posts and 34 joint posts across the city. Those who cannot present SIKM will be ordered to turn their vehicles around and are not allowed to pass the border.

As widely reported, people who wish to return to Jakarta after the 2020 Eid holidays must obtain SIKM as mandated in Article 6 of the Gubernatorial Regulation No. 47/2020.

The police have also tightened the access to Jakarta so as to anticipate homecomers returning to the city during the enforcement of PSBB in an effort to break the chain of the COVID-19 spread.
