Bisnis, Jakarta – State-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga recorded 465,582 vehicles left Jakarta from the east, the west and the south directions during the Eid holidays last week.

PT Jasa Marga's corporate communications and community development group head Dwimawan Heru said the figure plummeted by 62 percent compared to that of last year.

"As for the distribution of traffic, it is 39 percent from the east, 34 percent from the west and 27 percent from the south," he said as quoted from a release on Sunday, May 24, 2020.

"The total number of vehicles heading east is 179,797, dropping by 76 percent from the 2019 Eid al-Fitr holidays," he added.

According to PT Jasa Marga, the highest traffic since D day-7 up to D day-1 this year took place on D day-4 with 92,668 vehicles.

PT Jasa Marga calls on toll road users to actively participate in preventing the spread of COVID-19 by refraining from going on vacation and mudik in this year's Eid holidays.

"And please limit your trips and observe physical distancing, go outside of your house only for urgent matters, and wear a mask when doing outdoor activities," he said.
