Imam Hamdi, Jakarta – Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is in the midst of composing a roadmap policy to organize street vendors that open their businesses across Jakarta. Inside that roadmap, the governor said the will give business opportunities for the vendors to sell their goods on sidewalks.

"It will be available for certified street food vendors, we will also start it in the Thamrin area," said the former minister of education on Thursday, August 29.

Anies argues that a number of sidewalks or pedestrian path across the globe permits vendors to run the business as he says this dynamic approach is needed to help develop a city.

He also called for the public to not be allergic to street vendors and maintained that the Jakarta Administration must treat every group that exists within a society fairly and equally.

The governor says that such a policy is applied across the world that accommodates activities related to art, culture, and commercial activities.

"We shouldn't be allergic to any group. Don't. Street vendors will be organized," said Anies Baswedan who maintains that this policy will not eliminate the function of sidewalks as a pathway for pedestrians.
