Dewi Nurita, Tempo Magazine, Jakarta – President-elect Joko "Jokowi" Widodo announced the formation of three new State Ministries in his upcoming second-term Cabinet which will consist of the Ministry of Investments, Ministry of Digital Economy, and the Ministry of Creative Industry.
"The new State Ministries are essential for the current global condition," said the president in Tempo Magazine's August 26 edition.
The Ministry of Investments will effectively take over the function of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) while the Digital Economy Ministry and the Creative Economy Ministries are projected to be the evolution of the current Creative Economy Board (Bekraf), which will possibly be officially introduced as a single government entity.
What is clear is that the president assures that the latter will compose of young entrepreneurs who have proven themselves through the success of establishing their digitally-based startup companies.
"We have enough supply of these young entrepreneurs," says the former Jakarta Governor.
President Jokowi claims he is already in possession of the identities of these upcoming State Ministers but has yet planned to announce the names in the near future. "We will monitor the situation. Why rush it?"
