A hotel with clear windows in Purwokerto, Central Java, has corrupted the minds of the town's children, locals allege, resulting in their protest against the establishment yesterday evening.
As reported by local news outlet Radar Banyumas, hundreds of residents from the neighborhood angrily protested outside the hotel, saying that they have been able to witness couples getting intimate inside the hotel rooms due to their clear windows and thin, see-through drapes.
"It's better if they use tinted windows so we locals can't see what the guests of the hotel do inside the rooms. For us adults we may be happy seeing [hotel guests having sex]. But for children, it could corrupt their morals," local man Heru Gunawan told Radar Banyumas.
Tribun posted a video showing the locals' protest, as well as footage of just how see-through the hotel's windows were at night.
Neighborhood Chief Amin Widayat said that locals have repeatedly urged the hotel to do something about their windows for weeks, but the hotel has not complied with their wishes.
During last night's protest, Amin said locals brought along the police in order to get the hotel to finally change their windows.
"The owner of the hotel has promised to refit new tinted windows tomorrow afternoon, and they have signed a letter outlining their promise," East Purwokerto Police Chief Abdul Rojak said.
In light of this development, we can safely say that exhibitionists can no longer keep be living it up at the hotel Purwokerto.
