Friski Riana, Jakarta – President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and President of Argentina Mauricio Macri are holding a bilateral meeting at the Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java.
Upon welcoming the president, Jokowi mentioned his delight in meeting Mauricio Macri once again after both men last met each other at the G-20 meeting in 2016.
President Jokowi is positive that the meeting between them will improve the relations between Argentina and Indonesia. "We will soon meet again at the G-20 in Osaka," said the former Jakarta governor.
Present in the meeting were Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Agricultural Minister Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, State Secretary Pratikno, Chairman of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rosan P. Roeslani, the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) deputy Shinta Widjaja Kamdani.
President Mauricio Macri's inaugural visit to Indonesia is a direct follow-up to the visit of Argentina Vice President Gabriela Michetti on May 7th, 2019. At the time, Michetti met with Indonesian VP Jusuf Kalla at the Vice Presidential Palace, where both discussed a large number of issues that include attempts to increase exports.
