Hotman Siregar & Christian Lee, Jakarta – The legal team of losing presidential ticket Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno went to the Constitutional Court on Monday to submit a revision of the lawsuit they filed last month to challenge the result of the 2019 presidential election.

The head of the legal team Bambang Widjojanto said the revision contains crucial evidence that could disqualify Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and Ma'ruf Amin from the election.

Bambang said Jokowi's running mate Ma'ruf Amin, a Muslim cleric, was still registered as chairman of the sharia supervisory board at two state-owned banks, BNI Syariah and Bank Syariah Mandiri.

He said according to Indonesia's Elections Law, a candidate or a prospective candidate must sign a statement pledging that they will relinquish any official position before they run for election.

"According to the information we have, the vice-presidential candidate's name [Ma'ruf Amin] is still listed on the official websites of BNI Syariah and Mandiri Syariah [as head of the banks' sharia supervisory boards]," Bambang said.

"A presidential or a vice-presidential candidate must terminate their employment at any BUMN [state-owned enterprise]. We have looked into this multiple times and we are sure this is a very serious violation," he said.

Also included in the revision are a number of arguments and supporting evidence including video footages, documents and C1 forms, which contain vote tallies from polling stations.

Bambang said the arguments put forward by his team of attorneys are both qualitative and quantitative.

From a qualitative standpoint, the team is arguing that the Jokowi-Ma'ruf camp carried out a structured, systematic and massive electoral fraud. They mentioned abuse of power and misuse of state resources as reasons.

According to the team, the five forms of electoral fraud committed by Jokowi-Ma'ruf are misappropriation of state funds and government programs, misuse of bureaucracy and state-owned enterprises, partiality of state apparatuses such as the police and intelligence agency, restriction on press freedom, mistreatment from law enforcement and abuse of law enforcement power.

From a quantitative standpoint, they argued that vote-rigging was carried out in all 34 provinces in Indonesia, but mostly in Java.

"Vote-rigging was carried out by registering 'ghost voters' in the permanent voters list, manipulation of C1 forms and the [General Elections Commission's] vote-counting system. With the documents and reliable witnesses we have, we are confident we will win this [presidential election] dispute," Bambang said.
