Egi Adyatama, Jakarta – Indonesian Military (TNI) said it was not offended by the oration delivered by the Jakarta State University lecturer Robertus Robet that went viral on social media, saying that the speech was a valuable input for TNI to improve the institution itself.

"For me as a TNI head of information center, Robet's oration is a valuable input to develop TNI's capacity as the professional national army as mandated in Law No. 34/2002," said TNI head of information center Maj. Gen. Sisriadi to Tempo Thursday, March 7.

Sisriadi said the oration should be watched in a whole instead of in pieces of the video. He viewed that the oration not only talked about the current TNI but it criticized the ABRI, TNI's former institution, during the New Order era.

He further said that it was not a big deal even though the oration was conveyed during the demonstration in objecting against the discourse on expanding the department of TNI high-ranking officers.

"TNI is not an anti-critic," he said, adding that a lot of people coming to Cilangkap, TNI HQ, to give valuable feedbacks. He asserted that TNI's highest officers also share the same idea, saying that TNI would not take any measures against Robet.

Before the arrest, Robertus Robet told that two people, calling themselves military officers, came to his residence in Depok, West Java, on Wednesday, March 6. "My housemaid said that two people, calling themselves military officers, were looking for me at three in the afternoon," he said.
