Indonesian corruption investigators have been assaulted while tailing Papua Governor Lukas Enembe.
Indonesian state media reported the two officials were hospitalised prompting an inquiry from Jakarta police.
The officials from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) were assaulted close to midnight on Saturday. The incident, which took place at a hotel in Jakarta, happened while Papua Governor Lukas Enembe was meeting with Papuan officials.
Speaker of the Papua Provincial Council Yunus Yonda told Antara News that Papuan officials caught the KPK members taking photos of Mr Enembe. They were hospitalised with facial injuries but it was unclear who was responsible.
A Jakarta police spokesperson told the Jakara Post Mr Enembe was being probed and not formally investigated.
