Ayu Cipta, Tangerang – The Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) of Tangerang City stopped a Post Office located on Jalan Daan Mogot from delivering the remaining 150 packages or 450 copies of mysterious Tabloid Indonesia Barokah in the region.
The act was a response following a finding of six copies of the tabloid in Baiturrohman Mosque, Karawaci days ago.
Bawaslu Tangerang head Agus Muslim said that his side had inspected mosques in the area. However, not all mosques operators could be met. "Four mosques receive the tabloid, and it's been handled by local Bawaslu (Panwaslu)," Agus told Tempo, Monday, January 28.
Other than two mosques in Karawaci, Agus mentioned, two mosques in Ciledug sub-district also received the media.
Based on the testimony of an officer, Agus explained, the Tangerang post office had distributed 500 to 600 packages containing tabloid Indonesia Barokah, which each package stored three copies.
"After preventing the delivery, we coordinate the matter with Bawaslu Banten Province," Agus added.
A mysterious Tabloid Indonesia Barokah was previously found by Bawaslu Kuningan members. Bawaslu deemed the unregistered printed media contained hate speech.
Tempo tracked down the editorial office of the tabloid based on the address, Rawabacang Village, Pondok Melati sub-district, Bekasi City, and that turned out to be fictitious.
