M. Faiz Zaki, Jakarta – President Director of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk Hans Patuwo stated that the company is complying with Presidential Regulation Number 27 of 2026 concerning the Protection of Online Transportation Drivers.

The regulation limits ride-hailing application companies to an 8 percent cut of the passenger fare, ensuring that drivers, including online motorcycle taxis (online ojek), receive 92 percent of the earnings.

"Currently, we will conduct a review to understand the details, implications, and adjustments required in accordance with the regulation," he said in a written statement on Friday, May 1, 2026.

Hans mentioned that the company will continue to coordinate with the government and stakeholders to ensure that Gojek's services continue to benefit society sustainably. The transportation services provided by GoTo include Gojek and Gocar, as well as delivery services such as Gosend.

The new regulation was announced by President Prabowo Subianto during the May Day rally at Monas, Jakarta, last Friday. Prabowo expressed disagreement with ride-hailing companies taking more than a 10 percent share of fares.

The regulation also governs enhanced protection for drivers, including social security and fairer income distribution. "Earlier, I spoke; they must be provided with work accident guarantees, and will be given BPJS Kesehatan, health insurance," Prabowo said on Friday, May 1, 2026.

Previously, ride-hailing drivers complained that companies were taking a 20 percent cut from passenger fares. Despite repeated protests, the commission rate had remained unchanged until the issuance of this latest decree.
