Vedro Imanuel Girsang, Jakarta – The Indonesian House of Representatives Commission III (DPR) will supervise and monitor the legal process in the case of the attack against Andrie Yunus, the Deputy Coordinator of KontraS. The legislators are committed to promptly forming a working committee (panja) as a form of oversight.

DPR Commission III member, Safaruddin, stated that the working committee will ensure that the legal process of the case is clearly revealed. "Anyone involved will be revealed," Safaruddin said on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

Safaruddin explained that the assault case against Andrie will be investigated by two institutions, namely the TNI and the police. Both will synergize by prioritizing connectivity principles in handling the case.

Nevertheless, Safaruddin emphasized that the DPR will push for the case to be processed in the public court, not the military court. "Will be pushed to the public court," he told reporters.

Two unidentified individuals threw acid on Andrie Yunus at Salemba I-Talang Street, Central Jakarta, on Thursday night, March 12, 2026. Both perpetrators were riding a motorcycle and came from the opposite direction of Andrie.

The Chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police's General Crime Detective, Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, stated that the police had identified two attackers of Andrie Yunus. "Their initials are BHC and MAK," Iman said on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

The police suspect that there are a total of four perpetrators involved in the assault. However, the police do not rule out the possibility of the number of perpetrators increasing as the case is further investigated.

The TNI Military Police Commander, Major General Yusri Nuryanto, said that his side had received four suspected attackers of Andrie. "This morning, I have received individuals suspected of assaulting Andrie Yunus," Yusri said on Friday, March 18, 2026.

Yusri revealed that the four individuals are personnel of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) from the land and sea forces, namely NDP, SL, BWH, and ES. The Jakarta Military Command Military Police (Pomdam) has been detaining them since Wednesday morning, March 18, 2026.
