Ervana Trikarinaputri, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto clarified that he does not intend to influence Indonesians to harbor hatred or hostility toward foreign parties. According to him, Indonesia should instead learn from them.
"I have never intended to encourage hatred toward foreigners, nor to instill fear or suspicion. We must learn from foreign strengths, but we cannot be naive. No other nation is pleased if we succeed," Prabowo said.
Prabowo made the remarks during the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony of the Police Nutrition Service Unit (SPPG) and the opening of a Food Security Warehouse at the Palmerah Police Sector in West Jakarta on Friday, February 13, 2026.
The president framed the free nutritious meal (MBG) program as a symbol of Indonesia's revival and a step toward economic progress.
"Our economy is the economy of our founding fathers. It aligns with the 1945 Constitution. We are on the right path," Prabowo said at the event.
He added that Indonesia is on track to achieve success, asserting that the country would defy those who wish to see it remain stagnant.
Prabowo also highlighted the benefits of the MBG program for local farmers. He said the initiative has helped small-scale vegetable producers secure their income, addressing longstanding uncertainties about whether their harvests would be sold.
"Farmers now have confidence in their earnings. In the past, they harvested without knowing who would buy their produce. Today, their production is guaranteed to be absorbed. Competition is strong, and sometimes their crops are purchased directly at the farm," he added.
