Ilona Estherina, Jakarta – Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf stated that the government will allocate more than Rp17 trillion for social assistance (bansos) leading up to Eid al-Fitr 2026. The distribution will consist of two categories: regular and adaptive social assistance.

Regular bansos includes basic food assistance and the Family of Hope Program (PKH), targeting 18 million beneficiary families with a budget of Rp17.5 trillion. "Adaptive bansos for disaster relief, including for Sumatra and other affected regions, amounts to more than Rp2.3 trillion," Saifullah noted at Gambir Station, Jakarta, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Beyond these two categories, the Ministry of Social Affairs has also allocated funds for social rehabilitation and general assistance. The total budget for this aid stands at Rp20 trillion, of which more than Rp17 trillion has already been disbursed. "The remainder will follow for January, February, and March; this means, God willing, it will continue until Eid al-Fitr," he added.

The Ministry of Social Affairs intends to continue the distribution of aid into the second quarter, covering April, May, and June. According to Saifullah, the list of beneficiaries may change dynamically as the ministry utilizes continuously updated single data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) as a reference. Consequently, there are instances where beneficiaries receive aid in the first and second quarters but not in the third.

In addition to direct social assistance, the government will provide Rp911 billion in transportation discounts as a stimulus to bolster the economy during the Eid al-Fitr holiday season. These discounts will apply to train tickets as well as sea and air transportation.

A 30 percent discount on train tickets will be available for travel between March 14 and 29, 2026. Meanwhile, a 30 percent discount on sea transportation will be applicable from March 11 to April 5, 2026, and ASDP crossings will receive a 100 percent service discount at ports from March 12 to 31, 2026. Regarding air travel, a 17-18 percent reduction in domestic economy class fares will be offered for travel between March 14 and 29, 2026, benefiting an estimated 3.3 million passengers.
