Celvin Moniaga Sipahutar, Jakarta – The Indonesian government is offering investors to develop 75 new oil blocks across the country as part of its push to lift national crude output, the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry said.

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the target was outlined by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia during a ministerial retreat attended by President Prabowo Subianto at Padepokan Garuda Yaksa in Hambalang, Bogor, on Tuesday.

"He also presented the 2026 oil lifting target along with several strategies, including exploration and the discovery of around 75 new oil blocks," Prasetyo said.

Under the draft 2026 state budget, the government has set an oil and gas lifting target of 610,000 barrels per day, slightly higher than the 605,000 bpd target in the 2025 budget.

Prasetyo said the government expects the auction process for the new blocks to begin as early as next month to accelerate output gains. "We hope the blocks can be tendered next month so the push to raise national oil production can move faster," he said.

During the second round of the ministerial retreat, Bahlil also reported that Indonesia's oil lifting in 2025 had met the state budget target of 605,000 bpd, a notable milestone, as it marked the first time since 2008 that the annual oil lifting target had been achieved.
