Antara, Jakarta – A total of 100,000 Indonesian military personnel will take part in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Oct. 5.

Head of the TNI Information Center, Freddy Ardianzah, said the personnel come from the three branches of the military: the army, navy, and air force, including elite troops who will perform combat simulations. In addition, a parade of weapon systems as well as demonstrations of cavalry, artillery, and fighter aircraft capabilities will also be held.

"It is planned to involve TNI personnel and civilians who are part of the reserve and supporting components, totaling around 100,000 people," Freddy said on Tuesday, as quoted by Antara.

Freddy explained that technical preparations have been carried out, including coordination meetings with local governments regarding the use of the Monas Cross area. "Currently, preparations are at the stage of planning and appointing coordinators for each sector," he said.

The 80th TNI Anniversary celebration itself has already begun since August, with simultaneous sports competitions across Indonesia. The series of events also includes the TNI exhibition on Sept. 21 22, featuring health services, distribution of basic necessities, an alutsista display, and an MSME showcase.

Furthermore, the activities will include a student camp, a sailing pass by the Navy, memorial visits, and the main event on Oct. 5, at Monas.
