The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, inaugurated six new military command areas (kodam) in the Operational Parade and Military Honor at the Special Forces Education Center in Batujajar, West Java, on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
"With the blessing of God, on this Sunday morning, August 10, 2025, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby inaugurate six military command areas," said Prabowo in Batujajar on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
The head of state also inaugurated 14 naval command areas (Kodaeral), 3 air force command areas, 1 air operations command, 6 special forces command groups, and 20 territorial development brigades.
Prabowo also inaugurated 1 Marine Infantry Brigade, 1 Rapid Reaction Corps Regiment, 100 territorial development battalions, 5 Marine Infantry Battalions, and 5 Rapid Reaction Corps Command Battalions.
Subsequently, the head of state sounded the siren as a sign of the inauguration, followed by a series of cannon fire.
The Chief of TNI Information Center, Kristomei Sianturi, stated that Prabowo will provide specific guidance to 1,966 unit commanders at the battalion level and above from all branches, including unit commanders, type A military district commanders, education institution commanders, and chief unit commanders.
In addition, Prabowo will also bestow honorary general ranks and confer the position insignias of Deputy Commander of TNI. "And present the Star of Honor certificate to high-integrity soldiers," said Kristomei in an official statement on Friday, August 8, 2025.
This ceremony will be attended by 27,384 people, consisting of parade troops and supporters. The event will also feature 152 units of main weapon systems operated by 388 personnel.

1. Kodam XIX/Tuanku Tambusai covering the Riau and Riau Islands regions
2. Kodam XX/Tuanku Imam Bonjol covering West Sumatra and Jambi regions
3. Kodam XXI/Radin Inten covering the Lampung and Bengkulu regions
4. Kodam XXII/Tambun Bungai covering the Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan regions
5. Kodam XXIII/Palaka Wira covering Central Sulawesi and West Sulawesi regions
6. Kodam XXIV/Mandala Trikora headquartered in Merauke, South Papua
