Adil Al Hasan, Jakarta – Bank Indonesia (BI) announced that the broad money supply (M2) in April 2025 increased by 5.2 percent annually. This figure decreased compared to M2 in March, which grew by 6.1 percent.
Executive Director of BI's Communication Department, Ramdan Denny Prakoso, stated that the M2 in April 2025 reached Rp9,390.0 trillion. "The broad money supply or M2 in April 2025 continued to grow," said Ramdan in a written statement quoted on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
According to Ramdan, this development was driven by a 6.0 percent annual growth rate in the narrow money supply (M1) and a 2.4 percent growth rate in quasi money.
The growth of credit disbursement and net claims to the Central Government mainly influenced the development of M2 in April 2025. Credit disbursement in April 2025 also decreased from 8.7 percent to 8.5 percent annually.
Meanwhile, net claims to the central government decreased by 21.0 percent after contracting by 8.7 percent the previous month. At the same time, net foreign assets grew by 3.6 percent, compared to 6.0 percent in March 2025.
