Dewi Rina Cahyani, Jakarta – The Indonesian National Armed Forces Navy (TNI AL), or the Indonesian Navy, confirmed the matter of Second Sergeant Satria Arta Kumbara. According to the Head of Information Services of the TNI AL, First Admiral TNI I Made Wira Hadi, Satria has been dismissed from the military. He is no longer a member of the Marine Corps Inspectorate (Itkomar) after participating in a Russian military operation.

According to Wira, the dismissal was based on an in absentia (a judgment in the absence of the defendant) by the Military Court (Dilmil) II-08 Jakarta on April 6, 2023. "In the verdict, the person concerned was sentenced to one year in prison and also faced the additional punishment of dismissal," said Rear Admiral TNI Wira, as quoted from Antara on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

He explained that Satria had deserted or left military service since June 13, 2022, until the present. Therefore, Dilmil II-08 has imposed the punishment based on the Case Verdict Number 56-K/PM.II-08/AL/IV/2023 dated April 6, 2023, and the Final Legal Force Deed Number AMKHT/56-K/PM.II-08/AL/IV/2023 dated April 17, 2023.

Satria's name became viral on social media after he uploaded his participation in the Russian military operation. He shared his activities on the social media platform TikTok through a video from the @zstorm689 account.

In the video, there are several photos uploaded by the account owner. A video shows the man wearing two different uniforms, one when he was a member of the TNI AL and the other, when he became a Russian soldier.

There are also photos of Satria in combat for Russia. Satria was not alone; he was accompanied by other mercenaries from various countries.
