Hanin Marwah, Jakarta – The Jakarta Provincial Government is affected by the budget cut mandated by President Prabowo Subianto through Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 2025 regarding Budget Efficiency in the Implementation of the 2025 State Budget and Regional Budget. Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno revealed that the city's managed funds have been reduced by Rp38 billion.

"We have to cut costs, but it's not significant, only Rp38 billion from the central government's aid," said Rano Karno after Friday prayers at the KH Hasyim Asy'ari Grand Mosque, West Jakarta, on Friday, February 21, 2025.

He stated that, based on Jakarta's Original Regional Revenue (PAD), the reduction of the central government's aid is relatively small. Therefore, he believes the cut will not affect the programs designed by him and Governor Pramono Anung.

Previously, Pramono and Rano stated that they have targeted an increase in Jakarta's PAD to Rp130 trillion next year. The communication coordinator of the Pramono Anung-Rano Karno transition team, Cyril Raoul Hakim, said that PAD needs to be increased to develop Jakarta effectively and not rely on the central government's budget.

"Our target is to increase Jakarta's PAD to Rp130 trillion next year," said Cyril to Tempo on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

Furthermore, Rano Karno, often referred to as Bang Doel, emphasized that they support and will continue to implement budget cuts for expenditures that do not directly affect the wider public interest. "But we will still carry out efficiency measures, for example, in official trips," he said.
