Heru Andriyanto, Jakarta – Renowned global automaker MG Motor is set to introduce two electric vehicle models, claiming that they are entirely assembled by Indonesian engineers at the company's plant in Cikarang, West Java.

The official launch of the electric SUV model, New MG ZS EV, and the electric crossover model, MG 4 EV, is scheduled to occur at The Ritz-Carlton in Jakarta on January 10, the company said in a statement on Friday.

"The locally-produced MG 4 EV and the New MG ZS EV mirror our positive contribution to the national automotive industry and the local economy," said Arief Syarifudin, the marketing director of MG Motor Indonesia.

Based on the company's specifications, the MG 4 EV boasts a range of 425 kilometers on a full charge, with prices starting from Rp 650 million (around $42,000).

The New MG ZS EV is capable of traveling a distance of 403 kilometers, yet the price details will be disclosed during the launch ceremony.

Both models feature quick charge technology, enabling charging speeds of up to 80 percent in just half an hour.
