Riri Rahayu, Jakarta – The Indonesian government launched 51 One-Price Fuel policy distribution stations today, Friday, November 24, 2023. The inauguration was led directly by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR) Arifin Tasrif.

There were 26 distributors of the One-Price Fuel policy inaugurated today in Papua and Maluku, with the launch centered at Sorong Fuel Terminal in Southwest Papua. Simultaneously, 25 distributors were also inaugurated at three different locations today. These are Krueng Aceh Fuel Terminal for 9 distributors, Alor Regency Gas Station for 11 distributors, and Kapuas Gas Station for 5 distributors.

According to the minister, the One-Price Fuel policy was initiated in response to disparities in fuel oil (BBM) prices between regions due to distribution issues.

"With the One-Stop Fuel policy, BBM in [Papua] will have the same price as those in Jakarta or other cities," Arifin said during his inauguration speech live-streamed on EMR Ministry's official YouTube channel on Friday. "This was mandated by President Joko Widodo."

Until 2024, Arifin added, the government is targeting 593 distributors of this policy nationwide. However, his ministry will strive to expand this target. "We will continue to search and cooperate with provincial governments, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and all stakeholders to identify more locations in need of this policy," he said.

Throughout this year, the government has launched 80 distributors of One-Price Fuel policy. According to the Head of Communication Bureau of the EMR Ministry Agus Cahyono Adi, the number has encompassed 90 percent of the total distributor's target of 89 stations.

"Cumulatively from 2017, there have been 503 distributors of the One-Price Fuel policy," Agus said, quoted from EMR Ministry's press release.
