Ahmad Faiz Ibnu Sani, Jakarta – The peaceful rally to defend Palestine will be held again in Indonesia in the City of Bekasi on Sunday morning, November 12, 2023, starting from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., or during the car-free day (CFD).

This act was initiated by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Islamic organization Muhammadiyah, religious figures, and the general public of Indonesia.

Bekasi City head of transportation department Zeno Bachtiar asked the people to anticipate road closures during the CFD and the peaceful pro-Palestine rally.

According to the Bekasi City Administration's official website, the authorities would close the road from Sumarecon Bekasi until the Bekasi Cyber Park (BCP) intersection for motorized vehicles and large loaded vehicles.

"The residents of Bekasi are invited to join the solidarity movement in defending Palestine which is under Israeli attack," as written on the Bekasi Administration's official website on Saturday, November 11.

This solidarity action also collects donations from Bekasi City residents for the Palestinian people.

Last week, the peaceful rally to support the Palestinians was held in the National Monument or Monas, Central Jakarta. The coordinator claimed that more than two million people attended the solidarity act.

Not only the general public but there were also celebrities and national figures among the masses. Three Indonesian ministers also attended the rally, namely Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, and the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy.
