Antara, Jakarta – The development of Cibeet Reservoir and Cijurey Reservoir in Bogor Regency is entering its land acquisition phase. "The land acquisition will be conducted by the appraisal team," said Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in Bogor on Sunday, September 17, 2023, as quoted from Antara.
Minister Basuki inspected the national strategic project while accompanied by the Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin and Bogor Regent Iwan Setiawan. "The residents have also received the socialization from Mr. Muyadi from Commission V of the House of Representative and Bogor regency government," Basuki said.
Cibeet Reservoir will be developed on 1,700.26 hectares of land across eight villages in two sub-districts, Tanjungsari and Cariu. The reservoir is believed to reduce the flood in Karawang and Bekasi by 66% while beneficial to the irrigation system.

Cijurey Reservoir will be developed smaller than Cibeet Reservoir, on 203.9 hectares of land across four villages in three sub-districts, Sukamakmur, Cariu, and Tanjungsari.
