Moh. Khory Alfarizi, Jakarta – Light Rail Transit or LRT Jabodebek is set to add more train travel schedules from Saturday, September 16, 2023, in response to the growing demand of the public for the elevated train service which connects Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi.
LRT Public Relations Manager Kuswardoyo confirmed that there will be adjustments to the travel schedule, as there will be 202 trips per day from the initial 158 trips.
"LRT will serve the public longer than the previous schedule," he said in a written statement on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
Apart from that, the headway time or the arrival time between trains will also be shortened from 20 minutes to 17 minutes for the Jati Mulya – Cawang (round trip) route and the Harjamukti – Cawang (round trip) route and from 10 minutes to 9 minutes for the Cawang – Dukuh Atas (round trip) route.
In detail, the first departure of the Jati Mulya – Dukuh Atas route starts at 05:10 WIB (Western Indonesian Time), Harjamukti – Dukuh Atas at 05:06 WIB, Dukuh Atas – Harjamukti at 05:59 WIB, and Dukuh Atas – Jati Mulya at 06:08 WIB.
The last train departure of Jati Mulya – Dukuh Atas will be at 18:26 WIB, Harjamukti – Dukuh Atas at 18:58 WIB, Dukuh Atas – Jati Mulya at 19:27 WIB, and Dukuh Atas – Harjamukti at 19:51 WIB.
According to Kuswardoyo, the trip number was increased due to the people's high interest in using the newly inaugurated train. Since its commercial operation from August 28 to September 13, the LRT has served 629,929 passengers.
"We thank you for the public's trust in using LRT Jabodebek as a transportation means. We hope that with the increase in the number of trips, the LRT can better serve the community," he said.
