Francisca Christy Rosana, Jakarta – Hundreds of workers will hold demonstrations on the International Labor Day or May Day. One of their demands is for President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo to dismiss Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi, with regard to the issue of cooking oil mafia, which he blamed for causing the commodity price to soar.

Other demands include the rejection of the Job Creation Act or the Omnibus Law, encouraging fair implementation of the 2024 General Election, and rejection of low wages.

The protest will be carried out in front of the General Recovery Commission Office followed by a march to the Hotel Indonesia roundabout. After May 1, workers will celebrate May Day on May 14, 2022.

The Attorney General's Office had named four suspects, immediately detaining them, in the case of alleged corruption in providing crude palm oil (CPO) export facilities from January 2021 to March 2022. The Prosecutor's Team has sufficient evidence to identify the four people as suspects.

The four suspects are: the Trade Ministry's director general of foreign trade Indrashari Wisnu Wardhana, Wilmar Nabati Indonesia's president commissioner Master Parulian Tumanggor, Permata Hijau Group's senior manager of corporate affairs Stanley M.A., and Musim Mas' general manager for general affairs Pierre Togar Sitanggang.
