Arrijal Rachman, Jakarta – The Indonesian Health Ministry has decided to adjust the PCR exit test for people in self-isolation after being exposed to Covid-19 by reducing it from two tests on the fifth and sixth day to just one test on the fifth day of exposure.

The Ministry's expert staff of health technology Setiaji said this guideline answers the many complaints from the general public regarding a person's Covid-19 status – pictured in color code – in the covid tracing app PeduliLindungi.

Many have complained that their status in the app fails to change to green (free from Covid-19) despite already testing negative for the virus. The latest adjustment in the exit test mechanism was implemented on Tuesday midnight, February 22.

"Starting from February 22 people are no longer required to take a second PCR exit test," he said. "A person will only need to test once on the fifth day from their first confirmed exposure and must come back negative."

He added that a person's PeduliLindungi status will automatically turn green after 10 days from their initial confirmation test even if they do not take a PCR exit test.
