Adam Prireza, Jakarta – The National Police and the Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel on motorbikes dispersed masses of the 212 Reunion who were gathering at the roadblocks on Jalan MH Thamrin, or precisely at the intersection of Wisma Mandiri, Central Jakarta.
As Tempo observed, a group of masses today, December 2, flocked on the sidewalk in front of the Ministry of Religious Affairs' building.
The police donning Mobile Brigade or Brimob uniform and TNI personnel also asked them to leave the location.
About ten people who had been sitting on the sidewalk got onto their motorbikes parked in front of the barbed wire barricades and left. However, some seem to stand still on the sidewalk.
The 212 Reunion was planned to be held near Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue, Central Jakarta today. Even though the Jakarta Metro Police did not issue a permit for such a public activity, a number of people still tried to reach the area.
The police set out roadblocks at a number of points to prevent people willing to hold the 212 Reunion from reaching the Horse Statue area. Until now, the area remains clear.
