Antara, Jakarta – Upstream oil and gas company Pertamina Hulu Energy through its subsidiary Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore Southeast Sumatera (PHE OSES) on Tuesday announced the finding of a new oil reserve located in Jakarta's Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu).

The company's president director Budiman Parhusip said the team's OSES Block surface exploration made the finding at the Krisna Field, Antaranews reported.

"We have exploration findings in the Krisna Field, namely the interfields in OSES," said Parhusip in the oil and gas convention in Badung, Bali, November 30.

The company claims to have discovered the field has a supply of 2,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and additional 20 million barrels of reserve.

This latest finding will support Pertamina's national production goal of 1 million barrels of oil and 12 billion standard cubic feet per day by 2030.

In September 2018, Pertamina Hulu Energi officially managed the OSES Block after the transfer of management from a Chinese company called CNOOC SES Ltd. The OSES Block management contract is valid for 20 years.
