Imam Hamdi, Jakarta – Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said the city government had not received negative reports in the first phase of the back-to-school trial (PTM). The trial of face-to-face learning in a number of schools across the capital ended on Thursday, April 29, 2021.

"The reports we receive are generally great," said Riza Patria at the Jakarta City Hall on Thursday, April 29, 2021.

The on-site studies trial started on April 7 at 85 schools from the elementary to high school levels.

Riza hoped this trial would be the best future solution to education in the capital amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of the trial will later be reviewed as a recommendation whether to continue face-to-face school trials at a larger number of schools or reopen schools with limited capacities.

"The Education Agency will evaluate it. We will meet together, conclude, and decide what's best for our children," Riza added.

The city administration, he underlined, was determined to provide the best services and education for children given that distance learning had been going on for a year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Hopefully, there will be the best solution in the future according to the hopes of the central government as well," Riza concluded.
