Yudha Baskoro, Jakarta – Muslim protesters stage a rally to protest against China's alleged oppression of Uighur Muslims in front of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China building on Jalan Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Thursday.
Protesters come to the front of the embassy using two public transport cars at 11.30 a.m. They demanded that the Indonesian government raise concerns about freedom of religion among the Muslim-majority ethnic group in China's westernmost Xinjiang province.
The protesters also staged a theatrical performance that symbolically told China's government to immediately stop all forms of human rights violations against Uighur Muslims. Before disbanding, protesters urged the Indonesian government to boycott Chinese products, including the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
