Andita Rahma, Jakarta – The Indonesian National Police (Polri) arrested the hacker who managed to alter the website of the Central Jakarta District Court and the Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Brimob).

The arrest was confirmed by Brimob chief, General Commissioner Listyo Sigit Prabowo; "The hacker of Bareskrim and the District Court's website has been arrested. The press release will be issued later at noon," said Listyo today.

On December 19, 2019, the Central Jakarta District Court's website, www.pn-jakartapusat.go.id, was hacked and only displayed a picture of a student holding the Indonesian flag to partially cover his face over a black background.

Not only that, the narration accompanying the picture wrote; "Prison awaits protestors who are arrested, while millions of corruption preserved." The image and narrative showcased while the website was hacked refer to the prison sentencing of a student who was arrested for participating in 2019's students' widespread protests in Jakarta.

The hacker also placed a link that redirects its users to an online article about the arrest of vocational high school (STM) student, Lutfi Alfiandi. However, police maintained that Lutfi is in fact not a student but a 21-year old adult which now faces three charges.
