Jakarta (Antara) – Two personnel of the Indonesian Military (TNI) were nabbed in an apartment in Jakarta for allegedly involved in drug abuse. The arrest was carried out by Military Police Jaya (Pomdam) in collaboration with Jakarta Police Narcotics Directorate.
"Pomdam that is backed up by Metro Police narcotics unit discover five perpetrators, two of them are military personnel, while the other three are civilians," said Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus on Tuesday, December 10.
According to Yusri, the raid followed the result of Pomdam's investigation into its members. Jakarta Police only played a supporting role in the operation.
During the raid, Yusri added, one military member tried to escape by jumping out from the window of the apartment. He survived even though he sustained a broken arm and ribs.
At present, the perpetrators involved in illegal drug abuse were undergoing questioning. The three civilians are detained by Jakarta Police, while the two military personnel were secured by Pomdam Jaya.
