Dewi Nurita, Jakarta – The House of Representatives (DPR) will soon fix the draft of the revised Corruption Eradication Commission law (KPK Law) that was sent back by Secretary of State Pratikno to parliament members due to numerous typing errors or typos.

"We received a letter from the Secretary of State. We will clarify it and synchronize with the government," said House's Law Commission member Masinton Pasaribu to Tempo on Sunday, October 6.

He also confirmed that the corrections that will be conducted involve typing mistakes on the minimum age of a candidate for KPK leadership that is mentioned in Article 29. The minimum required age of 50 years old was incorrectly typed in alphabets as "forty-years-old."

Masinton blames the typo on the inaccuracy of staff in the House's legislative board (Baleg) in composing the strictly verbatim law.

"That mistake is purely a technical issue. The Baleg member already apologized to the leaders and members of the Indonesian Baleg," said Masinton.

However, legal observers argue that this issue cannot be viewed lightly as an elected KPK leader aged 45, Nurul Ghufron, may not be inaugurated due to the KPK Law typo from the House of Representatives' side.
