Jakarta (Antara) – Jakarta-owned market operator PD Pasar Jaya is selling an environmentally friendly packaging made from bamboo ahead of Eid al-Adha or Idul Adha. This eco-packaging provision is expected to reduce the use of a single-use plastic bag to wrap Qurbani meat.
The bamboo packaging is priced at Rp2,000 per piece and has been distributed to 75 traditional markets and 37 retailer shops under the firm, said the corporate spokesperson Amanda Gita Dinanjar.
"We instantly make it available in 112 spots," said Amanda, Wednesday, August 7.
Pasar Jaya claimed to have bought the packaging from micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs) in various regions, such as Tasikmalaya, Yogyakarta, and Tulungagung.
Previously, the use of eco-friendly packaging to wrap Qurbani meat is recommended by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan through a gubernatorial circular No. 4/2019 concerning the slaughter of sacrificial animals during Idul Adha 1440H/2019.
