We have seen plenty of videos of Indonesian students engaging in incredibly awful and disrespectful behavior at school, from smoking in class to harassing and even attacking their teachers.

Recently, one elementary school principal decided to resign in shame after a viral video emerged showing students from her school, uh, well, dancing.

(We'd recommend turning down the volume before playing the clip's hyper BPM "joget remix" soundtrack gets going, unless you're really into the funkot subgenre of techno)

As you can see, the kid's dance moves are not "vulgar" in the conventional sense, though one could argue that they do move like ravers under the influence of certain illegal substances.

But is that bad enough that the principal of the school needed to resign? Apparently, in her mind, it was that bad. The moment she handed in her resignation was even documented in this Instagram post.

In its caption, the account says that Rosidawati, the principal of State Elementary School (SDN) 1 Padangcahya, in the Balikbukit District of West Lampung, resigned from her position over the video because she felt embarrassed and negligent in her duties. It also says that she was not pressured or coerced into resigning.

The head of West Lampung's Education Department, Bulki Basri, confirmed to Kompas that Rosidawati had resigned over the incident. "Yes, it's true. We have received the resignation letter, the principal acknowledged her negligence," Bulki said today.

Bulki said the incident took place on Saturday at the conclusion of a student class farewell event for sixth grade students. One of the part-time teachers played the song and invited the students to dance along. According to Bulki, Rosidawati was inside when the dancing began but demanded they stop once she saw what they were doing. But by then video of the dancing had already been recorded and was soon spread online.

However, Bulki said that they had not yet decided whether they would accept the principal's resignation as they were still investigating the incident.

While the person who wrote the song they were dancing to should definitely resign from music, was what the students did in the video so bad that the principal should have to step down? Let us know what you think.
