Saturday, 3 January 2026, US imperialists carried out military aggression and 'arrested' Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores. These brutal and criminal acts are unjustifiable under any international law. However, the US was able to carry them out, proving that the US is the number one imperialist and number one terrorist.
The US has repeatedly attempted to destroy the leftist movement and Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela since the presidency of Hugo Chavez. A series of methods have been employed to bring about a 'change of power', including coups, assassination attempts, oil sabotage, delegitimising election results, destroying the currency, economic embargo, and even accusing President Maduro of being a drug lord and supporter of terrorists.
Pretexts or fabricated reasons have always been used by imperialists to overthrow governments. The pretext of possessing weapons of mass destruction, for example, was used as a narrative for the US invasion of Iraq. The pretext of 'protecting civilians' was used as a narrative for the overthrow and assassination of Muammar Gaddafi in Libya. And we will never forget the pretext of 'the assassination of a general' as a narrative for the mass slaughter of communists and the 'creeping coup' against Sukarno in 1965.
This time, the US has resorted to the dirtiest tactics in its attempt at 'regime change' after failing to overthrow the 'Pink Tide' government in Venezuela through various combinations of strategies: military aggression and the 'arrest' of President Maduro and his wife.
The main objective of these dirty tactics is not to promote democracy and human rights, but rather to plunder natural resources, particularly oil, gas, bauxite, aluminum, gold and cobalt. The governments of Hugo Chavez and Nicholas Maduro, through their Bolivarian Revolution project, are working hard to return natural wealth to the people through various Bolivarian programmes for community empowerment. Therefore, any economic and political agreements that undermine the sovereignty of the people and benefit imperialism will certainly be rejected.
Although various leftist groups are divided in their views on President Nicholas Maduro's government, especially after the last election, allowing the brutality committed by Trump and his imperialist government only strengthens imperialist domination and oppression. On the contrary, we call on the people of the world and any anti-imperialist government to show solidarity with the people of Venezuela in defending their sovereignty and freeing President Nicholas Maduro and Cilia Flores.
There is no other choice but to use all means necessary to fight against US imperialist brutality. Oppose military aggression and free President Nicholas Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores! We call on the people of the United States to pressure the Trump administration to stop military aggression and intervention against the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people.
Viva Venezuela and the Bolivarian Revolution!
